WHAKATANE LADIES' GOLF
On Wednesday and Saturday, May 22nd and 25tli, the first round of the Allan Trophy will be played by lady members of the Wliakatanc Club. A.ll handicapped players will take part, the competition being match play on handicap. Non-handicap players will play two medal rounds, the winners returning the two best scores. The draw is: Mrs Graeff a bye; Mrs Donaldson v Mrs P. Smith; Mrs Fraser v Miss F. Baker; Mrs Dewar v Mrs C. Armstrong; Mrs Bullard v Mrs Dawson; Mrs Spence v Mrs Hayward; Miss Black v Mris Otley: Mrs D. Allan v Mrs Pearse; Mrs Steel v Mrs Timbs; Mrs E. Armstrong v Miss J. Baker; Mrs Boon v Mrs Luxton; Mrs Sloane v Mrs Grey; Mrs Berg v Mrs Farmer; Mrs Buddie v Miss Bullard; Mrs E. Armstrong v Miss Cutler; Mrs Graeff v Mrs Kerr; Mrs Pearse v Mrs Mor-> peth; Mrs Fraser v Mrs Winstone; Miss Rand v Mrs Spence; Miss Garter v Miss Garlyon. In the Coronation Medal the best card was returned by Mrs Bullard 81, 10, 71 and the winners of the flag match are A, Mrs Boon; B, Mrs Spence; C, Miss V. Carter. GOLF MEETING (Own Correspondent) The annual meeting of the Waiinana Golf Club was held in the Waimana Hall last Monday evening. The President, Mr Jerram, welcomed all present and gave a report on the past year's activities. Mr R. Woolfield, secretary, read the minutes of the last annual meeting and the balance sheet was presented and adopted, and showed a good credit balance. It Avas decided to donate £5 5s to the Red Cross appeal*. The subscriptions are to be the same as last year and to be paid hy the end of June to get the benefit of the 2/6 reduction. The election of officers was as follows; — President: Mr G. Jerram (re-elect-ed) . Hon. Secretary and Treasurer: Mr R. Woolfield (re-elected). Captain: Mr Mannion. Green Supervisor: Mr Menges. Auditor: Mr Mannion. Vice-Presidents: Messrs E. Doran, E. Cranswick, M. King, J. Mitchell, N. Macdonald, N. Menges. Committee: Messrs R. Axtens, M. King, T. Doran, A. K. Bell,. L. Ducker, Mrs Ruff, Mrs King, Mrs Jerram, Mrs Mitchell and Miss J. McConnell. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr Jerram thanked all for their help and corporation during the past season. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
