MONTHLY MEETING
BAY OF PLENTY HOSPITALI BOARD FINANCIAL STATEMENT ; The Bay of Plenty Hospital Board met yesterday, Mr J. W. Sumner presiding over Messrs R. W. Scliofield, l L. Buddie, F. J. Bnrt r F. J. Savage, . A. F. McGoilgan and Mrs W. A. : McCracken. The acting-Secretary, Mr A. Bridger, and the Medical Superintendent', Dr. E. Tcwsley Daw son, also .attended. The iirst matter dealt with was the road to the Medical Superintendent's residence and after discussion it was referred to the Finance Committee. The Medical Superintendent's report was read and Dr Dawson added that lie would like the Board to consider the leasing of a house near the hospital to accommodate Annexe trainees. Dr Dawson said that more probationers" would have to be taken on but they could not be engaged until more room was available. Six more probationers would bring the staff number trp to the requirements of the Healtlr Department. | Financial Statement. The Financial Statement as at May 16th was as follows:—• Capital Account credit £524 4s 9d; Maintenance Account credit £1614 9s (3d; Additions to Buildings - Loan credit £1147 12s 2d; Levies received £1734 19s 7d; Levies outstanding nil; Subsidies received Nil; Subsidies out standing Nil; Patients' fees £1308 9s 6d; Donations received Nil; Expenses—Salaries £1020 13s 9d; Mainten-j ance £1126 8s Sd'. Hospital Statistics. Patients in hospital 1.3.40, 69; Admitted since 228; Discharged 225; Died 10; Remaining in hospital 30.4.40 62.
