MONTHLY MEETING HELD ' ESTIMATES ADOPTED The monthly meeting of the Wha-« katane Borough Council washelAl on Monday night, when His Wor-t ship the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, presided over Councillors S. S. Sliapley, A. J. Canning, C. G. Caisley, J. Gj Mulholland, A. Hall, G. Otley, W. Sullivan, C. S. Armstrong, and C. W< Good. The Finance Committee recom-« mended that the estimates, as amend.' ed, be referred to the Council for adoption. Cr Sullivan moved the adoption and congratulated the Finance Committee on bringing down such encouraging estimates. It was gratifying to know that the Council could carry on without a rate increase. Cr Canning seconded the motion.' and endorsed Cr Sullivan's remarks... He was pleased to see that there was no increase.
