NEW REGULATIONS
SALE OF OIL FUEL PROVISIONS FOR FIXING CLOSING HOURS Provisions for fixing hours for the sale of oil fuel contained in tfhe Oil Fuel Retail Hours' Emergency Regulations (1940) arc issued with the latest Gazette, They refer to oil fuel as motor spirit, power kerosene, or lubricating oil as defined by the regulations of 19.39. The new regulations also provide that on receipt of a requisition in writing from two-thirds of the sellers by retail of oil fuel in the area of locality, the Minister of Labour may, by notice in the Gazette, fix the hours at Avhich establishments in that area or locality shall be opened and closed for the sale of oil fuel. Every seller is required to display during the hours that he is closed, a notice indicating his closing hours and the address of the nearest place where supplies of oil fuel may be obtained. A fine not exceeding £."30 is provided for in cases of offences against the regulations.
