THIRD ECHELON
DATE OF MOBILISATION? CHANGE IN CAMPS USED The mobilisation of the third echelon men from the northern military district Avill be effected on Wednesday, May 15. The only sub-* stantial change from the mobilisation of the first and second echelons Avill be that no men are to go to NgaruaAvahia, Avhich Avill resume its identity as a territorial camp, About 2600 officers and other ranks Avill enter camp on May 15. In addition to those already acceptcd from the Auckland area there Avill be 88 to provide replacements of men to train as prospective non-commissioned officers. As in the past, the infantry, AA r hich in this case Avill be the 24th (Auckland) Battalion Avill go to Papakura. They will, hoAvever, be joined there by the artillery writs, hitherto accommodated at. NgaruaAvahia. Trentham Avill take the Engineers, Signal Corps, and No. 2 General Hospital, in addition to acting as the training centre for prospective officers' courses and accommodate ing the Wellington infantry battalion. The Field Ambulance* Army Service Corps and Divisional Cavalry will go to Burnham, as as the infantry from the southern military district.
