FARMERS' UNION PROPOSAL On the motion of Messrs Leach and Bachelor, the following remit whs approved at the quarterly meeting of the Northern Thames SubProvincial Executive of the Farmers' Union held in Thames a few days ago. ''That farmers and farm workers be paid at the rate of wages equivalent to those for similar work, and that the hours of work be those usual in employment of an equivalent nature and requiring equal skill: also that holidays and other conditions, overtime included, be on a par with callings requiring the same skill and effort; and that bank rates of .interest be paid on the total capitalisation of farms."
