A PERMIT PURCHASED

A few weeks ago the Napier Park Racing Club decided not to use its permit for the autumn meeting. An impression soon gained ground that the said permit was transferred to the Levin Racing Club for 1940 only but it is now reported that the latter paid over to the Napier body the sum of £1500 and that the transfer is for all time. NOT FOR SALE It is reported from Hawke's Bay that Mr Frank Ormond lias refused an offer of £4000 for Yogi, and in so doing intimated courteously to the would-be buyer that £10,000 would not be accepted.
