WEDDING
MAGEE—CRUSE A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. George's Church, Whakatane, last Tuesday evening when Joyce, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. B. Cruse, of Thornton, was joined in holy wedlock to Kennetlh second son of Mr and Mrs J. Magee, of Edgecumbe. The officiating Minister was Rev S. G. Caul ton and the wedding music was played by Mr R. Hill. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her father< made a charming picture in a graceful gown of ivory satin cut on form fitting lines to the waist, the full skirt terminating in a long oval train. A row of diamante buttons trimmed the back of the gown and long sleeves formed a point over each hand and the neckline was finished with a corsage of white gardenias. Her embroidered tulle veil was worn with a halo of orange blossoms and she carried a shower sheaf of cream chrysanthemums and fern. She was attended by three bridesmaids* Miss Valerie Cruse and Miss Oriel Cruse, sisters of the bride, and Miss Mavis Magee, sister of the bridegroom, and little Marie Magee, niece of the bride groom, was a flower girl. They were attired in pretty frocks of slipper satin made with heart-shaped necklines and trimmed with heart-shap-ed diamante buckles at the waist the colouring being green, pink> and mauve respectively and the wee flower girl wore an ankle length blue satin frock. Halos. of silver leaves were worn in their hair and they wore signet rings which were gifts from the and. carried Victorian posies to tone with their frocks. The bouquets were made by Mrs E. Goodwin. The bridegroom was attended by Mr L. Perkins as best man, and Mr S. Boss and Mr E. Gardner were groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception Avas held at Bell's Hall, Edgecumbe, Mrs Cruse receiving her guests in n smart frock of black satin and lace with a pink spray at the and a black fur bolero. Her bouquet was in the autumn tones. The tables were beautifully arranged with bowls of white flowers and a magnificent three tiered wedding cake occupied the place of honour. Mrs Magee, mother of the bridegroom,, wore a navy costume with matching hat and carried a bouquet in tones of brown and gold. The usual toasts were honoured and the wedding cake was cut, after which the floor was cleared for dancing and a pleasant and very happy function concluded shortly after midnight. A ** - The bride and bridegroom left Jjy car for Opunake, Taranaki, where they will make their home, the bride travelling in a navy costume with matching accessories. Among the guests present were Mr and Mrs McCormack from New Plymouth, Mrs and Miss Goldsmith, Rotorua, Mr Magee, Opunake, Mrs Martin, Hawera, Mr and Mrs Bailey, Thornton, Mr and Mrs Mac Donald, Mr and Mrs Robins, Mr and Mrs VV Carter, Mr and Mrs T.
