Dear Sir,

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS Sir, —If I am not too late in the day, I would like to write a letter of appreciation of "the Centennial pageant held some weeks ago, and especially of the parts that the Maoris took in that spectacle. The signing of the Treaty of Waitangi with the quill pen was most impressive, and brought back those old days most vividly, and last but not least the Maori children who delighted us* were those small boys and girls who marched in their native costumes. They really looked splendid, and were really in the pictux*e, as there is no doubt that those beautifully made native costumes are the right thing for them. The small boys with, their healthy brown bodies and the weapons in their hands were a de-i light to behold, and I hope you will print this letter to let them know what a pleasant memory we took away with us from Whakatane. Yours etc., 'U VISITOR.'*
