NEARLY A YEAR OLD

With the publication of Monday's issue the ''BEACON" will be a year old. The institution of a tri-weekly service based entirely upon the local news in and about the town and country, was a venture largely experimental, and following a daily paper with overseas 'information, was not embarked upon without some trepidation. A years activities, in spite of the retarding effect of the war, upon business generally} has demonstrated the warm and consistent support accorded the paper over a trying and difficult period. The management is deeply appreciative of this continued loyalty to a local news organ and the encouragement accorded, it by the general public.
