HILLCREST WINS CLARKE CUP PEEBLES' FINE CENTURY Compiling 112 not out, and securing two of the only three wickets which fell, besides taking a fine catch to dismiss the other batsman, F. Peebles, Hillcrest,, may at least be said to have been "ton the job" during the week-end. The match was the final Clarke Cup game of the season and resulted in a draw, Hillcrest thus holding the trophy for another year. THE SCORE BOARD Batting F. Peebles, not out ........112 G. Moore 63 An earls' - reverse saw Hillcrest lose two wickets, including Spring's, for one run. Peebles and Jackson (16) and later the former and Haultain (12 not out) however,, were associated for two useful partnerships which yielded 37 and 78 respectively, 'and Hillcrest declared with 153 runs for the loss of five wickets. Peebles score included 12 fours and 3 sixes. Paroa opened well Moore and H. Grant (16) placing 44 runs on tjhe board before they were parted. Moore continued to score steadily until dismissed and time was called with the total at 100 for three Avic-* kets.
