OPOTIKI STOCK SALE
CAPACITY YARDING Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their monthly stock sale at Opotiki,, when the yards were filled to capacity with all classes of cattle. Sheep were also yarded in very large numbers. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers. All clas-< ses of cattle sold at slightly lower Values, while sheep remained firm and sold under keen competition, there being a total clearance of both cattle and sheep under the hammer. Quotations; — Sheep: Light fat wethers £1 0s 9d to 21s 3d; 2-tootli wethers 19s to 19s 3d; lull mouth ehves 13s (5d to I.ls 9d; Southdown lambs 15s (kl to 16s 9d; shorn wether lambs 13s to 14s sd; medium 12s to 13s; culls 8s to 10s; woolly wether lambs 13s 6d to Ms 9d; medium shorn ewe lambs Us to 14s 3d; M.S. lambs, shorn Bs. Cattle: Fat cows £1 to £5; ligHjj £3 10s fe> £-1; fait heifers £1 to £5; boner cows £2 10s to £3; light 3J> r to 355: cows and calves £1 to £1 17s 0d: inferior sorts £3 to £3 10s: 3r year Shorthorn steers £5; yearling Shorthorn steers £2 13s; yearling Jersey heifers £2 10s to £3; bull medium heavy £5 to £6; light £3 10s ! to £-1.
