OPOTIKI PIG SALE
SLIGHTLY LOWER RATES Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their usual fortnightly pig sale at Opotiki when; a medium average yarding came forward. There was an average re--preservative attendance of buyers, with the usual bench of exporters operating. Baconers were yarded in lesser numbers whilst! porkers and stores increased, due no doubt to the advancement of the season, Baconers of all weights were sought at slightly lower rates. Porkers showed ft firming tendency. Stores, slips and weaners sold at rates lower than previously. One of the principal sales was a line of S baconers account J. Armstrong, £3 18s. Realisations: Heavy baconers £3 16s to £3 18s; medium baconers £3 10s to £3 15s; light baconers £3 to> £3 7s 6d; heavy porkers £2 10s to £2 15s; light porkers £2 to £2 ss; stores £2 15s tfc> £2 2s 6d; islips £1 10s to £1 15s; med 1 - ium sorts £1 to 255; weaners 12s 6d to 19s; choppers £2 to £3.
