AUTUMN CATTLE FAIR
PRICES AT OPOTIKI Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their Autumn Cattle Fair with the advertised entry exceeded. Our proportion totalling 150 head consisted chiefly ol station bred cuttle. There was an average attendance of buyers from the surrounding districts. A fair proportion of fat cattle was sold under steady competition at rates rather lower than the Whakatanc Fair. All classes of groAvn cattle sold under steady competition at slightly lower values than recent rates Young cattle of all classes were hard to sell at values on a par with other centres. There was a good yarding of boner cattle which sold at fullj late rates. Realisations: Fat P.A. heifers £5 15s to £5 19s; Cat P.A. cows £5 Is to £6 4s; 3V-> year P.A. steers £7 to £7 12s; 3% year Hereford steers £6 15s to £/ ss. 2% year P.,A. steers £5 15s to £S: 18 months P.A. steers £3 5s to £3 10s; 18 months P.A. heifers £2 13s; cows and calves £5 to £5 10s; medium sorts £3 14s; Hereford run cows £4 4s; boner cows, heavy £3 to £3 10s: boner cows, light £1 15s to £3 10s. bulls, heavy £8 to £9; bulls, medium £4 to £5; bulls,, light £2 10s to £3.
