A BRAW SCOTS NIGHT

The genuine Scottish spirit was afoot last Thursday evening when members of the Whakatane Pipe Band were entertained in traditional style at the home of Mr and Mrs T. M. Grant of Thornton. The pipers played a number of selections which were enthusiastically received. Mr Ferguson a member of the band, contributed two solos in good style and the children oF Mr and Mrs Grant entertained the guests with Maori action songs which were thoroughly appreciated. Community singing and an excellent supper concluded a particularly enjoyable evening and a hearty vote of thanks was unanimously accorded Mr and Mrs Grant for their hospital sty.
