LIST OF MANAGERS SOME INTERESTING FACTS Managers who have had charge of the Whakatane branch of the bank are as under: Mr C. Waterston (now of Tauranga,), Mr W. Morrison (now manager of the Auckland branch), Mr A. G. Clarke (now retired and living in Melbourne),, Mr W. A. Allnutt (now assistant inspector of Wellington), Mr J. B. Stewart (now manager of Dunedin branch) and the present manager Mr F. W. K. Raymond. In connection with the bank's first manager it is interesting to recall that during his first year in Whakatane lie had a singular experience. Sitting in the office hfi heard one daj r , loud calls for help, and dashing out was in time to save a young boy from drowning, in the tide. The boy later on joined the bank, and was no other than Mr G. T. Francis who is now manager of the Dargaville branch. It is pleasing also to reflect that the decision to build the new office was largely influenced by the strong representations and active interest of the present manager Mr Raymond,. who is also to be con-pli-mented on his achievement:
