CENTENNIAL BOOKLET

Coinciding with the near approach of the Centennial Celebrations the BEACON is engaged in the production of a special booklet which will be issued free to the public on Saturday week. At the present time compilation is proceeding and the business houses are being canvassed for advertisements whereby to meet and defray the cost. As the Centennial will not occurr again for a hundred years it appears fit and proper that the local press should mark the occasion by making a special effort in order to show something qf the remarkable story behind the growth and expansion df the town and the development of the Rangitaiki Plains. The booklet will serve in some respects as a monument to faith and fearlessness of the old pioneers who so well and i truly laid the first foundation stones of the wide prosperity we now enjoy.
