OPOTIKI PIG SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their usual fortnightly pig sale on Monday, when a full yarding of all classes of pigs, came forward. The usual bench of bacon curers and export buyers, were in attendance, and also a representative attendance from surrounding districts. Competition was keen for all classes of baconers with heavy and medium weight baconers being keenly sought after at slightly advanced rates. Porkers were sold under keen competition at late rates; butlermilk and store pigs sold under keen, competition at slightly increased rates; slips and weaners demanded, less attention and sold ait slightly lower values. Realisations: Heavy prime baconers £3 17s 6d to £4 3s; medium heavybaconers £3 12s 6d to £3 17s 6d; light £3 5s to £3 10s; heavy porkers, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s f>d; choppers" £3 10s tj> £4; buttermilk pigs £2 12s 6d to. £3; slips £1 12s 6d to £1 15s; weaners 10s to 15; light porkers £2 5s to£2 7s 6d.

The New Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports as good yarding and a very satisfactory clearance at Te Telco on Monday, prices being fully up to recent quotations. Forward 3 and 4 year steers from £7 to £8 6s; 3 year Jersey cross,steers £4 10s to £5 10s; forward conditioned Hereford cows from £4 to £5 17s 6d; prime Jersey and Jerseycross heifers made from £5--l&Utor-£7 14s; heavy Jersey cows to £5 8s; lighter Jersey cows from £4 5s to £4 15s; heavy boner cow* from £4 to £4 10s; lighter from £2* 10s to £3 15s; potter bulls brought very keen competition from £4 10sto £8 2s 6'd according to weight, I,G Jersey heifers, small, from £4 to *-> "s; store lambs 14s 3d.
