Mrs M.. Perkins with her daughter, Mrs Don Hume, has left for Auckland to meet her son, Cedrie, who is returning on H.M.S. Achilles. Mrs J. Larsen, Mrs J. Murphy and Miss M. Melville, of Whakatane, left last Wednesday for Ham-. ilt.on to join the IZB Happiness Club excursion train to the Centennial Exhibition, ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Betty Baxter, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. B. Aird, Papanui Road, Ghristchurch, to Denis Dare, . only son of Mr and Mrs W. M„ Clark. Whakatane. The marriage will take place shortly.
