TO-MORROW'S BIG EVENT

MONTHS of planning and preparation will culminate with to-morrow's Centennial Show. All roads will lead to the Showgrounds, where the public will be treated to one of the stock exhibitions in the Association's history. Special efforts to ensure its success have been made by the executive Avhile the active co-operation of the Department of Agriculture is demonstrated by a special display on farm management which should not be missed by pastoralists. The Show means much more than a mere cattle parade, or root crop display. It is an indication of the fertility progress and standard of the farming community on the fertile Rangitaiki Plains. To visitors from afar it tells its own tale. For years the potentialities of this broad plain were never guessed; indeed until comparatively recently the Rangitaiki was not 'discovered' by the rest of New Zealand. But to-day it is a recognised dairying area with the highest possibilities imaginable. What better method of telling of its wonderful richness than by the Show. Here we have a co-ordinated effort on the part of the combined district farmers to demonstrate just what the district can produce in dairy cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and produce. It is our show' and therefore demands that we lend it that co-operation and assistance it deserves. To ensure its success, to give it a high place in the eyes of visitors and others interested, to illustrate our own deep interest in the Centennial itself, to encourage those willing workers who have gratuitously given of their time and substance—all these are reasons which make it a duty "on our part to attend the show and lend it all the assistance within our power.
