MONTHLY MEETING

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL OFFICERS' REPORTS ADOPTED The monthly meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council was held on Monday night, His Worship the Mayor presiding over Councillors S. S. Shapley, A. J. Canning, C. G. Caisley, A. Hall, W. Sullivan, G. S. Armstrong. An apology for absence was received from Councillor Otley. The reports of the Borough Foreman, Electrical Engineer, Inspector and Sanitary Inspector were received. Before retiring these officers were asked by His Worship Ko pass on to their respective staffs a request that the men assist in any way possible with the work on Centennial Celebration Day,' March 16.

"There will be work and duties of various kinds," said the Mayor, "and I would like you to ask your staffs to assist us, and help us through to a successful conclusion.
