INTER-CLUB BOWLING
FRIENDLY MATCH WITH TE PUKE WIN FOR WHAKATANE The hope thait inter-club matches •witli Te Puke would become a re< gular feature was expressed by Mi S. McLcod, President of the Wliakatane Bowling Club, when welcoming members of the Te Puke Club who engaged in games on the local greens on Saturday. Though the local bowlers were successful by 15.'1 points to 121, the games were keenly contested, and very much enjoyed b.v all participants. At the conclusion of the games Mr A. Spratt, the Te Puke President., thanked Mr McLeod for his welcome, and echoed his sentiments. He also thanked the Whakatano Club for their hospitality and the excellent afternoon's sport, and wa?> looking forward to Whakatane's visit to Te Pulcc on February 17th. The very welcome afternoon tea served by the ladies did much to make the afternoon a success. Results with Te Puke names firs I were: — Reynolds, Best, Mollgaard, Russell' (s) 9 v Savage, J. Kelsall, Burnett, Persey, Montgomery (s) 26 v Matthews, Wilson, Comer,, Hooper (s) 16. Cassin, Grainger, Chester, A. Spratt (s) 26 v Hyland, Healy, McIsaac, McLeod (s) 16.
