Numerous charges involving breaches of Iho Traffic Herniations Avcrc brought in Mie Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. In the case where Honri Pirimoa, of Awakaponga, was diarized with driving a lorry at a speed exceeding 2." miles per hour, Inspector R. Gardiner. of tiie Transport Department, staled that he followed defendant's lorry when it was travelling at -1> miles an hour. Pirimoa was (ined £2 and 12s costs On a similar charge brought against Edward Simpson, of Paroa, Inspector J. H. Delves gave cvh donee that lie followed defendant's truck on the Tauranga lioad at 37 miles per hour. The lorry at the time was loaded with metal. A. line of £1 was inllicted and costs were I.ls, No Rear Brake Drums. James Ilindle Hunt appeared to answer a charge of driving an omnibus when such vehicle was not fitted with two independent brakes. He pleaded guilty. Inspector J. H. Delves said that the Vehicles Inspector bad reported to him that defendant's bus was not fitled with rear brake drums. He slopped defendant on November 15. The bus was filled with schorl children and on examining the vehicle he found that there were no brake drums at the rear. Defendant had: explained to him that new drura£, had been ordered from Auckland, but, when they arrived it was discovered that they were the wrong size. It was during the period of replacement that lie had examined the bus. Defendant explained to the Court that he had tried to get the necessary parts and the wrong size had been forwarded from Auckland. The correct drums were on order when seen by the Inspector. A line of I.os with 10s costs was imposed. Cyclist Towed by Car. Hakota Wharewera did not appear when called to answer a charge of being towed by a car whilst riding a cycle. Inspector Delves said that al 1.10" p.m. on the 27th of November he saw defendant on the Jefl side of a car with his foot on 'he running board and one hand holding on. Wharewera was lined iOs with i(is costs. No Lights. The Clerk of Court read a letter from .Joseph Arthur Dunsion, stating that he was busy with harvesting and could not appear to answer a charge of operating a car without displaying lights as prescribed in She Traffic Regulations. He pleadeu guilty. Inspector Delves gave evidence and defendant was fined Si with 10a costs. Operating Without Proper Licence. The. Transport Department again prosecuted when W. R. Beaumont, of Ngongotaha. was charged with operating a goods service without the proper licence. Evidence that he had stopped defendant's lorry and found that it did not carry the proper vehicle authority, was given by Inspector J. H. Delves, and defendant was convicted and fined £1, with costs amounting to lis also recorded against him.
