, '* TAJNTGI AT POROPORO The passing of Ngou Ngou Hil<itene of Poroporo, whose death occurred yesterday morning, hjas meant the loss to the Ngati Pukeko tribe of yet another link with the days of the glorious past. 'Ngou Ngou Hikitene was seventyIjKx years old at the time of his dc~4 ; ; cease. He had lived in these parts all his life and had many friends with Pakehas and Maoris alike. He married Miss Caroline Kay, a pakeha lady of high standing, who survives him. There are three sons living 4 and numerous grandchildren. The tangi which commenced yesterday ....."fj will continue for several days.
