Mr and Mrs Dagliesh of Lower Hutt are holidaying at Ohope. Miss Rosina Benson of Wellington is spending a holiday at Ohope Beach. Miss L. Trainor, of Paroa School, is at present staying with her parents at Ruatoki. Mr and Mrs H. O, Ingram of Tauranga are spending a few weeks at the Ohope motor camp. Mr and. Mrs G. S. Simpson and family of Wanganui are on holiday at Ohope Beach. Mrs Collimore, of Hamilton, has been staying with her father, Mr Lewis Hunter. Nurses E. Olsen and S. Sturt of I the Whakafcane Hospital, were successful in passing the recent mater- ? nity examinations held in Auckland. Miss Barbara Wallace of Merritt L . Street, is visiting Rotorua, and is staying with her brother, Mr Ken Wallace, of Ranolf Street. Miss Sybil Kirkby, of Wellington, who has been staying with Mrs H. Warren, of Simpkin Street, returned South on Saturday morning. Mr F. W. Price, of Whakatane, who was visiting England when war was declared, is serving with the New Zealand Anti-Tank unit at present in camp In England. Mr and Mrs A. Blake, of Pongakawa Valley, have returned home after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in Wellington, where they visited the Centennial Exhibition. Mr and Mrs A. L. Bailey, of Birkenhead and Mr and Mrs W. Bailey of .Whangarei, spent the week-end at Oliope. This party has enjoyed a very pleasant tour of both the North and South Islands. His Worship the Mayor, Mr B, S. Barry, the Town Clerk, Mr D. V. Saunders, the Chairman of the Whakatane County Council, Mr C. L. Burnett and Mr J. W. Sumner, attended the meeting at Tauranga arranged for furthering voluntary enlistments in the Bay of Plenty, and which was held last Thursday.
