FAREWELL AFTERNOON

The members of the WaimanaNukuhou Women's Institute met in the Waimana Hall last Monday afternoon to bid farcAA r ell to Mrs Stansbury and Miss M. Stansbury, Avho are leaving the district. The afternoon AA'as spent Avith singing and dancing items and competitions.

Mrs F. Davies, Nukuhou North, rendered two vocal solos, and little Monica Boynton also sang in her usual delightful manner. A splendid exhibition of tap-dancing Avas given by Ngaire Mitchell.

A musical parcel competition Avas AA'on by Mrs Laker, and a memory competition by Miss Eileen Addison.

After a dainty afternoon tea had been served, Mrs Mitchell on behalf of the Institute members presented Mrs Stansbury and Miss Stansbury with beautiful bouquets and gifts and wished them every happiness in their new home and said how their company had been appreciated as members, although their stay in\ Waimana had been short.

Mrs H. Wardlaw on behalf of the Gardening Circle, presented Miss Stansbury with a presentation box of Gladioli, in appreciation of her duties as secretary.

Miss Eileen Addison in well chosen words presented Miss Stansbury with a gift from the members of the Basketball, Club, with their best wishes, and stated how she would be missed from their club and any time Miss Stansbury should be in Waimana during the basketball season she would she would be welcomed in the team. Mrs Stansbury and Miss Stansbury most capablj- responded, thanking all for the lovely gifts and good wishes, which were fully appreciat-

ed. The singing of "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows" and Auld Lang Syne, closed the afternoon.
