WHAKATANE IMPRESSES MINISTER IMPROVEMENT IN LAST THREE YEARS "Whakatane is a bright town,"' said the Hon. H. G. R. Mason on Friday. The Minister said that he visited Whakatane rd.out three and a half years ago and had seen many town since. He added that it was impossible to retain an accurate impression of all towns visited in the course of his travels and thus was unable to appreciate fully the development here since l'J'j7. ''Whakatane should have a great future," said the Minister. "Other centres, like RoLorua and Tauranga, are too far away to aiTect the town's prosperity and it should grow."
