COMING OF AGE
.HAPPY EDGECUMBE GATHERING Nearly a hundred people attended at the new hall, Edgecumbe, in honour of' the coming of age of Miss Mary Swan of Otakiri. A very enjoyable evening was spent in dancing and items, the latter being given by Misses P. Dredge, J. Campbell, L. Jenltin, D. Boothby and Mr H< McDonald. Monte Carlos were won by Miss and partner, and Mr Fowell Mr S. Pearce played extras. A bouquet was presented to Miss Swan, by Misses D. Boothby and L. Jenkin. The toast jo the guest was propos ed by MriGieo. Clothier, Matamata, who spoke wery highly of Miss Swan and presented her with a key on be fialf Mrs Boothby and Mrs Cropp. Vliss Swan suitably responded thank ng all for their attendance, the lumerous gifts received and also "or the pleasant evening. The gathering dispersed with Auld Lang >yne, and cheers for the hostesses Hesdames Boothby and Cropp. Mr Wally John was Master of Ceremonies.
