WATERSPOUTS SEEN
SPECTACLE AT OHOPE OUT TOWARDS WHITE ISLAND During tlio squally weather experienced last Wednesday, residents at Ohope Beach enjoyed the unusual spectacle of two waterspouts which were clearly seen out at sea. The Avatchers on shore state that the clouds gathered in a black vortex, Avhich slowly descended to the sea, Avhere the Avater at that distance appeared to be very disturbed. For some minutes the funnel remained as a perfect connection between sky and sea,-but AA T as later AvithdraAvn into the clouds.
