WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT EDGECUMBE

The monthly meeting of the Edge cumbe W.I. as as held on Tuesday and took the form of a Christmas tree party for members' children.

A beautifully decorated. Christmas tree was the centre of attraction for the children and the arrival of Santa Claus in traditional costume to distribute a gift to each child was keenly enjoyed.

The afternoon's entertainment was provided by the children who recited, sang and performed a short play. A wall competition was won by Mrs G. Irving.

A Christmas cake donated by Mrs Le Lievre, was won by Mrs Forbes.

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses for the day Mrs Poole, Mrs Pearse and Mrs Burke.

The meeting concluded with the National Anthem.
