MORE RAIN
HARVESTING INTERRUPTED
After the delay caused by the rain many farmers in the Bay of Plenty are hard at Avork harvesting their hay. Some damage Avas done where hay had been cut and raked before the rain stopped operations, and some farmers Avho had grass lying in the swathe, as left by the mower, have had to turn it so that it Avould dry in the sun.
Generally the hay crops are good, and there should be no repetition of last year's shortage, which caused serious difficulty during the dry spell in the late summer and autumn.
