Miss Beryl Tipper wlio has been nursing on the staff of the Rotorua Hospital for the past eight months, leaves shortly to take up an appointment at Napier Hospital.
Mr Eric Guest, only son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Guest, of James Street, Whakatane, entered Narrow Neck N.C.O/s camp on Saturday. Mr Guest has been in sole charge of the Te Rore School for a number of years, nnd the regard in which he was held in that district was demonstrated on Wednesday night when residents presented him with a watch and money belt. Mr Guesl holds the rank of sergeant.
Mr A. G. Hultquist, M.P., left Whakatane for Wellington on Wednesday 6th December, He entered an N.C.O.'s class at Irentham on Saturday. He has been posted to the 21st Divisional Signallers. His brother, Mr R. N. Hultquist, who did not expect to be called up until January, has also received notification that he is posted to the 21st Divisional Rifles. He entered an N.C.O's class at Narrow Neck on the 9th instant. Both have had previous lengthy territorial training.
