MAORI FINED £1

Peter Wano was charged with procuring liquor on November lltli when he had a prohibition order against him, at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. It was stated by Constable F. M. Fuller, that this charge was the result of a complaint of assault by Peter Wano on his wife on November 11 tli. Wano had been dealt with on that count. Mr R. F. Smith, who appeared for Wano, said that his client was a hard-working man. He had just commenced on a new job. Counsel suggested that a light fine would meet the case. Wano Avas fined £1 and £1 Is costs and was allowed one month in which to pay.
