SERIOUS INJURIES

OHOPE BEACH RESIDENTS

COLLISION NEAR ROTORUA

Through an accident on the Roto-rua-Whakatane Road, Mr Kere Buller, of Ohope, and William Goodwin, aged 9, son of Mr K. Goodwin, of Ohope, Avere admitted to the Rotorua Hospital on Tuesday suffering from serious head and bodily injuries. Mr Buller was riding a motorcycle combination and William Good win Avas a passenger in the side-car.

They were travelling in the direction of Whakatane from Rotorua at the time of the accident as also was the motor-car, belonging to the Native Department and driven by A. N. Morrison, which was iunvolved.

The motor-cycle was caught in the front bumper bar of the car and was carried about twenty feet along the road after the impact.

When the car was stopped Mr Buller's head and shoulders were projecting from underneath the front Avheels and the boy Avas trapped beneath the engine of the car.
