"FIRE LAW"

Sir, —The Chairman of the County Council knows what he is talking about. He says "any person lighting a fire within 60 yards of a road, private by-way or building is liable to a penalty not exceeding £10." So it amounts to this—no fire is to be lit in the open within three chains of a road or building. I hope the officers of the council will get strict instructions to carry out this law and prosecute without fear or favour. Yours etc., RATEPAYER. ,
