MENACE AT OHOPE
Sir,—The reserves mentioned at the recent meeting of the County Council are an absolute menace to the settlement of Ohope. For a period of about eight weeks each year as many as eight camps (I don't know how many humans) with their caravans and tents are crushed together into one of these They get their camping for nothing (their greatest consideration), an<| without restriction or control, raf-j ferty rules. This should not be lowed by the powers that bt:. These reserves were sit apart by the Lands Department as sites for public buildings, schools and churches. They were never intended for campers to crush into, with their camp fires and insaiiitation. Think how shockingly foul that acre must get! And the danger from, camp fires is a real one. Yours etc., FIRE AND DISEASE.^
