CROWN RESERVES COUNCIL RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEARING i * Following a recommendation from * the Works Committee the County Clerk at yesterday's meeting stated j that two of the Crown reserves in sections 1 to 58, Ohope, had been * reported to the office as having been fenced off. Cr Lux ton wanted to know 7 under whose control the sections were. He asked, he said, because it involved the clearing of the sections to conform with the council's earlier decision to enforce the mowing of long grass as a guard against an outbreak of fire. The Chairman said that the council was responsible. The recommendation that the County Engineer investigate and take appropriate action was approved.
