BOWLING
WEEK-END TOURNAMENT VISITORS TAKE PART A very successful tournament was played on the local greens last week end 19 teams taking jjart. In addition to local players, visitors were present Te Puke, Tan eatua and Opoliki. Results;—■ Section A.
Loane won tlie section. In the final, AVhakatane (Francis, Orchard, Currah and Loane (skip) beat Te Puke (Heggie, AVylie, Jamieson, and Palmer (skip) after a close and interesting game. Mr S. McLcod, president, presented the trophies and congratulated both teams on tlieir play. Messrs Loane and Palmer briefly replied, and Mr Palmer on behalf of the visitors, thanked the ladies who presided over the tea and luncheon arrangements.
