OTAKIRI GATHERING
The usual monthly meeting of the Otakiri "Women's Institute was held in the hall on Wednesday last when Mrs Turnbulil presided over a good attendance of members.
Mrs Hallet ably demonstrated the making of a bouquet and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her demonstration.
Mrs Cristail displayed severed pieces of tapestry indicating methods of working and pointing out the essentials for success in this handicraft. Mrs Turnbull explained the method of making a bound buttonhole.

The competitions for the afternoon resulted: Best Lettuce, Mrs Ley i, Mrs Crista!! 2, Mrs Whiteside 3. Best frock costing not more than 7/6, Miss Tunnieli/Te 1, Mrs Turnbull 2, Mrs W T hiteside 3. Best bloom, Mrs Hampton 1 (Stock), Miss I. Murray 2 (Rose), Mrs W. Murray 3 (Rose)..
All present answered the roll call "Kitchen Dont's."
The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Dunning and Cristall.
