YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

DANCE AND SOCIAL

The Waimana Y.F.C. celebrated their third birthday recently. The function took the form of a dance interspersed with items, and was held in the Waimana Hall, where friends and representatives of neighbouring Y.F.C. were entertained. Mr and Mrs King supplied the dance music, and Miss M. Wardlaw and Mr M. Burlce obliged with extras.

Tlie stage had been decorated with bowls of Iceland poppies and blue forget-me-nots.

Mr J. Perfect made an efficient M.C. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Mr and Mrs N. Macdonald and Miss B. Bell and Mr lan Ruff. Much appreciated vocal items were rendered by Mr Neals. A box of chocolates for competition was won by Mrs T. W. Wardlnw and a box of home-made sweets, donated by Miss Stansbury, was won by Mr R. White.

During the evening Mr L. Macdonald, president of the club, welcomed all, and expressed his wishes that all would have an enjoyable

evening

The birthday cake which was made and iced by Mrs Woolfield, took pride of place at supper. Mrs Macdonald was called upon to light and extinguish the candles and Mrs Woolfield cut the cake. The Y.F.C. being wished a hrvppy birthday, and a hearty vote of thanks for the splendid evening's entertainment, the National Anthem closed the function at a late hour.
