FIRM PRICES OBTAIN
The Loan Co. reports a good yarding of cattle at Te Teko on Wednesday. Bidding Avas very spirited and a total clearance Avas effected at very satisfactory prices. Springing heifers Avere in short supply and of inferior quality generally. One good early calver made £10 10s. Poorer and later sorts from £3 17s (>d to £8.
There was a fair yarding of beef cattle and prices were fully up to late rates. Heavy fat cows £7 10s to £8 medium fat cows £5 10s to £(5 17s, lighter billable cows and heifers £1 to >:5 ss, young "store cows from £2 7s (id to £',i 18s, boner cows .£1 to £'-!
There was a heavy yarding of yearling and '> year empty heifers and these brought yerv keen competition—one pen of 18 good quality yearlings made £5 7s. A pen of 20 brought £1 If)s with others from £:> to £1 1()s. Bulls made from £'l to £7 7s (id, weaner pigs from 1 Is to H)s (id.
OPOTIivI PIG SALE PORKER PRICES DECLINE Messrs Dalge'y and Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale on Monday, October 30, when an average yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Prices for baconers remained on a par with the previous sale but the store and porker prices showed a retrograde movement. Prime heavy baconers made to £3 13s, medium baconers £3 3s to £3 Bs, light baconers £2 17s to £3 2s, porkers, best heav} r weight £2 (>s, others 37s to £2 ss, large stores £2 4s, others 30s to 30s, slips 21s to 20s, weaners 10s to 10s Gd.
