♦ Daylight Reconnaisance Flights ENEMY AERODROMES INSPECTED Details of the Royal Air Force operating in trance, carried out a series of daylight reconnaisancc flights over Germany, yesterday and inspected aerodromes and military objectives behind the German lines. In spite of vigorous opposition from anti-aircraft batteries our men returned with photographic records and much useful information. Only one machine, it is stated has failed to return. Along the whole of the Western Front war in the air yesterday increased and numerous contacts were made .with the enemy, according to a French communique. French chasers and fighters were hotly engaged between the Saar and the Moselle and many battles took place. A German machine was brought down behind the British lines by anti-aircraft fire yesterday afternoon. A quiet night followed the activities of • the day and an early morning communique received a few hours ago spoke of a complete lull.
