Mr Charlie Young, of Toroa Street, left for Hopuhopit military camp/* last Friday. Before elaving he was the recipient of a presentation from, the P. and T.'Mr Young is to he attached to the Divisional Signallers. * Major C. A. Lp Leivre lias received notification to report for duty at Ngaruawahia on November Bth for service in the Second Echelon. Major, Le Leivre, who is a well known Whakatane citizen, is the first returned soldier from the Bay of Plenty to enlist for service in the present war. For many years, he commanded the Hauraki Regiment and has the. distinction of being one of the descendants of tfi'fe early' French settlers at
