MAORI WOMEN'S INTEREST FORMED AT MATATA A Maori Women's Red Cross subcentre was formed in Matata on September 16th. This is the first exclusively Maori sub-centre to be established in New Zealand. The following officers Avere elected:— Patron: Mr Tai Mitchell,, C.M.G.; president: Mrs W. McCracken; lecturer: Miss Raneti; treasurer: Mrs 1 Minarapa; secretary: Mrs R. Fraser; committee: Mrs J. Ihaia, Mrs Mahia Mrs Meihana, Miss Heni Savage.
