Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. re-v . port having held their fortnightly pig sale at the Opotiki saleyards on Monday the 16tli instant- Ai full yatttf ing of pigs of all classes came forward and prices on the whole showed an increase on late rates'; The top price of the sale was obtained by Mr Boris Black for a pen of heavy weight baconers which made £3 16s. Other heavy baconers £3 9s to £3 14s, medium £3 3s to £5 Bs, light £2 19s to £3 2s. Porkers were not in demand and. practically every porker was purchased by buttermilk buyers, these buyers paying to £2 15s for their pigs. Weaners and slips sold under very keen competition, late rates being maintained, and in some instances being eclipsed. Notable amongst the entries of slips and weaners were two pens, account of Mr Peter Baker one pen making 29s an& the other 2 /s. Sows due to farrow*' at an early date made from £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, and one sow with a litter of' four sold for £3 ss. >
