OHOPE TENNIS CLUB
OFFICIAL OPENING HELD
Although the unfavourable weather conditions marred the opening of the Ohope Tennis Club on Saturday, there was nevertheless a'good attendance of members and visitors from the Presbyterian CJub. An enjoyable Yankee Tournament w;r; stage'. The winners were Mis Hunter and Mr G. Mahy. At the conclusion of the tournament afternoon tea was serve ! by the ladies. "Mr Ru nnerstrum patron of the dub before declaring the season officially open offered his congratulations and best wishes. The president, Mr G. Mahy ? also spoke. The remainder of the afternoon was taken up with friendly games. ! METHODISTS AT TEXXtS Though the weather affected the attendance, the Methodist Tennis Club's season was .successfully opened last Saturday, visitors being present from other club's, including Paroa and the Presbyterian Club. The season, was declared open by the President, the Rev. C. Lucas, who hoped that the day was the forerunner of many more pleasant after/ noons. I
