SOCIAL SECURITY
NEW HOME AT COURTHOUSE
Reflecting" the turmoil of a world at the Social Security Department's Whakatane branch- is at present in its own little way in a state of some confusion, While slii'fting it's quarters from one part of the courthouse to another.
With the institution of the Social Security Department tlie social security ofTicer > Mr J. L. Searing* worked in the clerk of the court's" office, and another part of the work was carried out in' the witness room." at tiic entrance to the building. The new police station was then ing constructed, and the police also shared the building, their quarters being in the law library at the rear.
This last room wil) now be the social security office, and the law library will be transferred to the* witness room. The new arrangement will be much more convenient, both ■for Mr Searing and for Mr T, 'Morgan clerk of the court.
A party telephone line will serve the courthouse and the Social Security Department the numbers being 30M and 30S respectively.
