PETROL PAYMENTS
A CARRIER'S REQUEST
Mr C. H. Bvcbner reported to Tues day's meeting of the Wh&katane County Council that Mr Semmens had asked him if payment for gravel carting could be made every week or so. Weekly payment was now necessary for petrol, and the contractor had said that if he could not get the money for his petrol he might have to stop work.
An earlier ruling of the council 1 was that accounts should not be paid between meetings. However, in View of the altered- circumstances the clerk had asked him to bring the matter before the council.
It was decided to leave the matter ir. the hands of the chairman and? the clerk. . .
