HILLCREST CLUB MEETS OFFICERS FOR SEASON The annual meeting of the Hillcrest Cricket? Club was held in the office of D. McL. Wallace, Ltd., Whakatane, alst Monday. A receipts and payments statement was presented by the secretary showing a credit balance of £9 4s lOtl A review of the past season's playshowed a satisfactory position for a new club several players gaining representative honours. The officers for the 1939-i4O season were elected as follows:—Presi* dent: Mr N. A. Corcoran; vice-pre-sidents: Messrs R. W. Schofield, J. Creeke, H. Raymond, W. S.. Henderson and H. Dewar; secretary and treasurer: Mr H. Warren; club captain: Mr G. Oswald; team captain: Mr L. R. Spring. A practice game will be played at the Whakatane Domain, on Saturday next against the Post and Telegraph and all players are requested to be on the grounds at 1. 30 p.m. sharp.
