TOP PRICE 40 GUINEAS

There was a large attendance of dairymen from Opotiki, Tc Pult4 and the Whakatane district at the South Bay o:fi Plenty Jersey Cattle Breeders' Club sale of Stud Bulls, held at the A. and P. Showgrounds, Whakatane, on Wednesday, 27th Sop tember. The cattle came forward in good condition and the general type and quality of the large entry was considered to be af, a higher standard than offerings at the club's previous fixtures. Of the 93 bulls catalogued ten were not brought to the sale t four failed to reach vendors' ideas o:fi value and 79 were sold at the satisfactory average of just over 22*4 guineas.

The top price of the sale at 40gns was paid by Mr J. Armstrong, Opotiki, for the 2 year l old Green Meadows Cavalier, a son of Greencroft Lordship and Raeburn Sunshower H.C., C.O.R. 6731b Ifiat. A yearling bull Raeburn Blue Peter brought 1 the bidding to 37% guineas, but was passed at this figure.

An outstanding type of 2 year old Raeburn Love Lad (Oaklands Beau Ideal C.B.B.—Wellfickl Love H.G, C.0.R.. 5221b fat) ay as purchased by W. W.
